Time for a monthly update. Nothing spectacular, but progress none the less. Here is a wire frame of the general layout of the shrine. Things to note: 1) Shrine is on a mountainside, a common occurrence for a rural structure. 2) There is a courtyard leveled out from the surrounding contour, and it is normally enclosed by a fence made of wood or stone (not shown in this view). 3) There is a building for lodging, etc., outside the courtyard and connected by a wooden walkway. This are can also include vegetable gardens, etc. 4) The tori is not shown, but stands where the entrance stairs reach the courtyard level. 5) Other details are still in the planning stages, such as the placement of other temizuya and komainu (clensing station and statues).
It doesn't look like a lot, but I can now start on the actual architecture of the site, meaning a lot of detail work on the buildings. That's the fun part!

Looks good, but I can't see Godzuki!
Godzuki or some version might make an appearance, depending on how seriously I handle the details.
I think all of us are in the same boat update-wise.
I'm about to take some reference photos of the building to get back on the Model Fight horse.
